Grooming Long Haired Cavies
Below are links to articles and videos about grooming coated cavies. I suggest reading a few and watching a video before you embark on the grooming process ;-) With Texels, "less is more." Keep the curls picked free of debris and tangles but don't brush them a whole lot and do not blow dry them. Wrap them in towels to dry them.

Video: Bathing Your Pet Guinea Pig on youtube by WeeCompanions--they use baby shampoo in the movie. I also use an herbal rosemary shampoo (no SLS) but I keep it out of the eyes. You can also use a drop of dish soap (Palmolive, Dawn, Ajax, etc) on the gummy spot on mature boars' rumps
Video: Grooming the Yorkshire Terrier watch how they blow dry the long coat!!! Don't use a lot of grooming products on cavies, but DO rinse them very well and blow dry on cool or warm and cool Peruvians and Silkies. DO NOT BLOW DRY TEXELS.
Ear Tagging Cavies a must for show animals. This is not really grooming but I don't know where else to put this
Avalon Organics where I get shampoos. I also use Chris Christansen (http://www.chrissystems.com/) dog grooming products--just keep them out of the eyes! The CC brushes are worth the price
